Taylor Swift Gets Pre-Trial Victory in Her Legal Battle with DJ Who Allegedly Groped Her

Taylor Swift and her legal team scored a small victory in their legal battle with David Mueller, a former Denver radio host who allegedly groped the singer during a 2013 meet-and-greet.

On Wednesday, a federal judge sanctioned Mueller for destroying multiple electronic devices containing key evidence in the case, according to the Denver Post.

Mueller sued Swift in September 2015 claiming the pop star cost him his job after the Grammy winner claimed he groped her during a meet-and-greet session. In court documents, Mueller admitted Swift had been groped but blamed his “superior” at KYGO, Eddie Haskell.

U.S. District Judge William Martinez has allowed Swift’s attorneys to question Mueller about a two-hour audio recording he taped during an interview with his boss Robert Call, the day before he was fired. In the latest court papers obtained by The Post, Mueller admitted to destroying or losing four electronic devices, including a cellular phone, laptop, iPad and computer.

Mueller gave multiple reasons behind his actions, specifically that he spilled coffee on his laptop’s keyboard. “It was fried,” Mueller said.

Martinez believes the recording is critical evidence due to Call’s claims that Mueller changed his story when he confronted him about Swift’s claim that he assaulted her. Call said that was one of the factors in his decision to fire Mueller in June 2013.

According to court documents from Swift’s October 2015 countersuit previously obtained by PEOPLE, Mueller and his girlfriend were participating in a meet-and-greet in 2013 with Swift when he “intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.”

After the alleged incident, Swift was “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed” and informed her photographer, tour manager, and security team, according to the papers.

A trial date has been set for early August.

John McCain’s Wife Says Their ‘Family Will Face the Next Hurdle Together’ Following Brain Cancer Diagnosis

John McCain and his family continue to thank supporters for their outpouring of support and prayer following the announcement of the 80-year-old Arizona senator’s brain cancer diagnosis.

“Thank all of you for the wonderful thoughts. @senjohnmccain is doing well. We as a family will face the next hurdle together,” his wife Cindy McCain shared on Instagram and Twitter Wednesday evening. “One thing I do know is he is the toughest person I know. He is my hero and I love him with all my heart.”

Along with the heartfelt caption, Cindy, 63, shared the couple’s wedding photo from their 1980 nuptials.

In 1979, Sen. McCain, who was a Navy captain at the time, met Cindy, a former special education teacher, for the first time at a reception, and they married one year later. The couple have three children: daughter Meghan, 32, and sons John Sidney, 31, and James, 29, and adopted another daughter, Bridget, 25, from Bangladesh.

The Republican politician is also father to sons Douglas, 57, Andrew, 55, Sidney, 50.

Cindy’s update about her husband comes after Meghan shared an emotional tribute to her father.

“Cancer may afflict him in many ways: But it will not make him surrender. Nothing ever has,” the Outnumbered co-host wrote in her letter.

Sen. McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer, after he underwent surgery at Phoenix’s Mayo Clinic to remove a 5-cm blood clot from above his left eye, according to a statement released from McCain’s office on Saturday.

“Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor was associated with a blood clot,” Wednesday’s statement explained.

Ryan Reynolds Grants Terminally Ill 5-Year-Old Boy’s Wish with FaceTime Call from Deadpool 2 Set

Ryan Reynolds became a real-life superhero for Daniel Downing, a 5-year-old boy from Plympton, England, who was told he had only months to live after doctors discovered he had an inoperable brain tumor.

The actor, whom Downing calls his hero, recently arranged a phone call with the child, and even showed him around the Vancouver, Canada, set of Deadpool 2 during their 15-minute conversation that was all captured on video.

“How’s it going, little buddy?” Reynolds, 40, said over the phone as Downing told him he was doing “poorly.”

But the Marvel superfan’s spirits were instantly raised after he requested the pair switch over to FaceTime. “Ah, that’s awesome, what an awesome T-shirt!” Reynolds enthusiastically said, adding: “You know, I’m the only guy who doesn’t have one of those T-shirts. I need to get one of those.”

Downing lit up even more when his idol explained that he was in the middle of filming the sequel to his favorite film. “Yeah I am outside, you know what I am doing right now? I’m filming Deadpool 2. I’m about to walk into the set and shoot Deadpool 2,” Reynolds explained.

“As soon as Daniel realized, he asked if he could FaceTime him and then he was very, very hyper,” the child’s mother Stephanie told ae local news outlet. “All the camera crew waved hello and Daniel had his Mr. Pool T-shirt on. Daniel was telling Ryan how poorly he’d been and how his friends had helped him feel better.”

On July 13, Stephanie was told patients with Daniel’s diagnosis have nine months to live, at most.

“ had to dash off to film, but that was good, really – Daniel gets tired very quickly. I’m so happy for Daniel,” the proud mom said. “It’s something he wouldn’t normally have been able to do and he was so excited. He told all his friends and his teachers. It’s nice to see him so excited because he has been a bit down lately.”

A family friend of the Downings set up a crowdfunding page with a goal of £6,000 or approximately $7,813. The account has raised over £17,000 or $22,500 thus far.

“Daniel is the most amazing 5-year-old ‘young man’ you could ever wish to meet. Full of life, mischievous, polite, intelligent, innocent, and above all, loving. He is adored and cherished by his mum Steph, his dad Robbie, his brother Jack (8 yrs old), and Steph’s partner, Ady. Daniel has such an adorable character that he really fits the phrase ‘once met, never forgotten,’” the page describes.

John McCain Diagnosed with Brain Cancer

John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer, days after he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot above his eye.

The 2008 Republican presidential nominee’s office and the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, released a statement on Wednesday evening revealing the diagnosis.

“Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with a blood clot,” the statement explains. “Scanning done since the procedure (a minimally invasive craniotomy with an eyebrow incision) shows that the tissue of concern was completely resected by imaging criteria.”

Per his office, John McCain had a cancerous tumor in his brain removed last week pic.twitter.com/RzQamcsIRh

The Senator, 80, is recovering “amazingly well” and his current health condition is “excellent,” according to McCain’s doctors.

“He is in good spirits as he continues to recover at home with his family in Arizona,” another statement stated.

On July 14, McCain underwent a “minimally invasive craniotomy” to remove a 5-cm blood clot from above his left eye, according to a statement released from McCain’s office. Tissue pathology reports were pending.

Because McCain has been in Arizona recovering, and not on Capitol Hill for next week’s vote on the Republican bill to replace Obamacare, GOP Senators were forced to postpone the vote until McCain can return, according to Politico.

McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, also released a statement on Twitter.

“The news of my father’s illness has affected every one of us in the McCain family. My grandmother, mother, brothers, sister, and I have all endured the shock of the news, and now we live with the anxiety about what comes next,” the Fox News co-host wrote in a letter.

“It is an experience familiar to us, given my father’s previous battle with cancer — and it is familiar to the countless American families whose loved ones are also stricken with the tragedy of disease and the inevitability of age. If we could ask anything of anyone now, it would be the prayers of those of you who understand this all too well. We would be so grateful for them,” she said, concluding, “He is my strength, my example, my refuge, my confidante, my teacher, my rock, my hero — my dad.”

McCain, who has served Arizona in Congress since 1982, is a three-time survivor of melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer that can spread to the brain and cause bleeding. McCain was diagnosed with invasive melanoma in 2000, and has been regularly screened by his doctors.

McCain previously had two other malignant melanomas removed: on his left shoulder in 1993 and his left nasal wall in 2002. All were declared Stage 0.

Kylie Jenner Says She ‘Fooled Her Whole Family’ During FaceTime Call with Her $350,000 Wax Figure

Kylie Jenner put one over on her famous family during a recent prank call with a little help from her newly-created Madame Tussauds wax figure.

“I made her FaceTime my whole family … fooled everyone,” the Life of Kylie star, 19, shared on Instagram Tuesday, along with a Snapchat selfie of the lookalike creation.

“My wax figure is here. This is so creepy,” Jenner said in a video shared on Snapchat. “I donated the actual dress I wore to the Met so you can come see it,” she explained in another short clip.

In May 2016, at the Manus x Machina-themed soirée, the youngest KarJenner made her Met Ball debut wearing a custom silver, fringe beaded Balmain ensemble, which she accessorized with an angular bob wig.

Jenner’s wax figure is valued at $350,000, according to a press release.

In February, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star announced she was going to be immortalized in wax by sharing behind-the-scenes videos of herself getting measured. Jenner explained that the detailed process of creating a wax figure takes half a year to complete.

The Kylie cosmetics entrepreneur follows in the footsteps of sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner, as well as brother-in-law Kanye West — all of whom have wax figures at the popular institution.

Fans will be able to see Kylie’s wax figure up close and personal on Wednesday when the attraction opens to the public at the Hollywood location.

Life of Kylie premieres on E! on August 6.

Jada Pinkett Smith Says Husband Will Is ‘Perfect’ as Aladdin’s Genie: He’s ‘Always Creating Magic’

Jada Pinkett Smith can’t wait for the world to see how magical her husband Will Smith is.

The Girls Trip star, 45, gushed about her partner of over two decades on Wednesday’s episode of the Tonight Show and told host Jimmy Fallon exactly why the role of Genie was a great fit for Will.

“You know what, this is perfect for you because you’re always creating magic,” the actress recalled telling her husband, who was in early talks to headline Disney’s live-action Aladdin since April.

On Saturday, Walt Disney Studios production president Sean Bailey confirmed at the D23 Expo that “the amazing Genie will be played by the equally amazing Will Smith.”

Guy Ritchie is directing the film with newcomers Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott playing Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively.

For the forthcoming remake, the fictional city of Agrabah will be created from global influences, including the Middle East, India, and even China.

12-Year-Old New York Boy Killed by Boat Propeller While Taking Sailing Lessons

A 12-year-old from Norfolk, New York, died after he was struck by a propeller during a boating safety course at a Long Island yacht club.

At the Centerport Yacht Club early Tuesday afternoon, three students, all wearing life jackets, were taking part in a sailing class during which their boat was intentionally capsized into the water on the North Shore as part of the lesson, according to a statement released by the Suffolk Police Department.

During the exercise, two of the three children were able to remain in the boat. The 12-year-old was pulled out of the water by his 18-year-old instructor and put into the instructor’s inflatable Zodiac boat, which had an outboard motor.

When the instructor accelerated the boat, the 12-year-old boy fell into the water again and “became entangled in the propeller of the Zodiac,” the police statement read.

“The instructor pulled the boy back into the boat and performed CPR until EMTs arrived,” Suffolk Police Assistant Commissioner Justin Meyers explained in a press conference.

The child was taken to Huntington Hospital where he would later die from injuries to the chest.

The two other children did not receive medical aid, but the instructor was admitted to the hospital for shock. Police told local media outlets the instructor was “traumatized” by the events. “He’s in shock, he’s very upset, his family is with him,” Sgt. James Scimone of the Suffolk County Police said. “The instructor is a young instructor, and he did everything he was taught to do.”

Police say they are investigating the incident as an accident, but say no one is at fault.

The 12-year-old boy’s death marks the second time in two days a child was killed by a boat’s propeller. On Monday, a 12-year-old girl in New Hampshire was killed after she was run over by a power boat being driven by her father, local police said.

Founded in 1947, the Centerport Yacht Club runs a sailing school and camp, and provides Junior sailing classes for ages 5 and up. The facility operates more than 120 sailing yachts, including 50 power yachts and 70 power boats.

Chris Hardwick Gives AGT Golden Buzzer to 9-Year-Old Kidney Transplant Survivor with Powerful Vocals

It’s Judge Cuts on America’s Got Talent and guest judge Chris Hardwick has selected a superstar in the making as the recipient of his coveted Golden Buzzer.

Nine-year-old Angelica Hale from Atlanta, Georgia, wowed judges Simon CowellHeidi KlumMel B and Howie Mandel on Tuesday’s episode with a powerful rendition of Alicia Keys‘ 2012 hit “Girl on Fire.”

“I mean, I’m so blown away and you have these sneakers on, you look like this adorable little child and then you open your mouth and I’m like, ‘How do you those pipes fit in that tiny body?’” Hardwick told the young singer.

“You are unbelievable. I just feel like, Angelica, you are the chosen one!” The Wall host said before enthusiastically pushing the Golden Buzzer.

Before she was impressing many with her singing abilities, Angelica was in need of a life-saving kidney transplant when she was only four-years-old.

In 2012, Angelica became severly ill with a bacterial infection in her lungs, called Sepsis, that developed into double pneumonia. She became in need of a kidney transplant, and in September 2013, Angelica’s mother, Eva Hale, thankfully was a match and able to donate a kidney to her daughter.

“I want to be the next Whitney Houston. I want to be a superstar. I’m so happy to be here because I’ve been watching the show on YouTube and now I’m in it. And I’m in it to win it,” Angelica told the judges during her auditions, for which she sang Andra Day’s “Rise Up.”

Angelica is the sixth contestant to head straight to the live rounds.

Previously, Klum pressed the Golden Buzzer for 13-year-old singer Angelina Green. Mandel chose his Golden Buzzer recipient, 16-year-old Christian Guardino. In addition, Mel B‘s 12-year-old singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and Cowell’s 29-year-old deaf singer Mandy Harvey are going to the live rounds.

And host Tyra Banks shocked audiences when she pushed the Buzzer for Light Balance, a group of dancers from Ukraine who literally lit up the stage with their intricate choreography and neon costumes.

America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays (8 p.m. ET) on NBC.

Chris Christie Gets Mercilessly Booed After Catching Foul Ball at Mets Game—and Here Come the Beach Jokes

Chris Christie seemingly can’t catch a break.

The New Jersey governor, 54, was relentlessly booed at Tuesday’s St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets game inside New York City’s Citi Field for catching Cardinals infielder Paul DeJong’s foul ball.

Christie swiftly caught the baseball with his left hand while remaining in his seat, however the impressive (and lucky) snatch did not impress the N.Y. crowd. In the end, the politician gave away his ball to a young child.

“Nice to see him get from the beach to the ballpark,” Fox Sports announcer Dan McLaughlin remarked during his play-by-play.

— FOX Sports Midwest (@FSMidwest) July 19, 2017

Not only did the announcer bring up #Beachgate, viewers and social media users alike did not forget Christie’s viral beach photo.

The baseball outing comes over two weeks since Christie was slammed for sunbathing on Island Beach State Park, which he had closed to the public due to a state government shutdown. Days before the Fourth of July holiday, Christie ruled against the New Jersey government after he and Democratic assembly speaker Vincent Prieto failed to agree on a new budget before the July 1 deadline.

Also on Tuesday, Christie gave his first on-camera interview post-Beachgate.

Speaking with MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, the father of four defended his decision to close the beach. “I want to talk about your image, not beaches. Why don’t you care how you’re perceived?” Wallace asked.

“I do care how I’m perceived, but I’m not gonna sacrifice my family for public perception,” Christie responded, adding: “I had to make a choice between political optics and my family. When I have to make a choice between the two, I have never made anything clearer to the people of New Jersey — I’m picking my family.”

WATCH: Abby Lee Miller Tearfully Says She ‘Probably Won’t Survive’ Prison in New Tell-All Interview

Before Abby Lee Miller reported to prison to serve her 366-day sentence on July 12, the Dance Moms reality star gave an emotional interview to The View‘s Jedediah Bila.

“I made lots of mistakes,” Miller, 50, tearfully shares, adding, “I probably won’t survive.”

Bila debuted the first promo of the Dance Moms: Abby Tells All special on Tuesday’s episode of the ABC daytime talk show.

In the sneak peek, Miller also addressed how her bankruptcy fraud has affected her career and legacy. “Oh, I panicked,” she said. “I gave kids a new life. No one can take that away from me. No one.”

Last week, Miller reported to the Victorville Federal Correctional Institution in California to serve her 366-day sentence for bankruptcy fraud.

In October 2015, Miller was charged with attempting to hide $775,000 of income from the Lifetime series, its spin-off Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition and multiple other projects during Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

Miller, who allegedly hid the money in secret bank accounts between 2012–13, pled guilty to bankruptcy fraud in June 2016. She was also accused of divvying $120,000 and having her friends carry the money in plastic bags in their luggage in August 2014, which she promised to forfeit in January.

In May, Miller received a sentence of one year and one day in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release. She was additionally fined $40,000 and ordered to pay the $120,000 judgment, as well as give a DNA sample relating to her felony charge.

While it remains to be seen how much of that sentence Miller will actually serve, multiple sources told PEOPLE that she will realistically face 10 months in prison, followed by a stint at a halfway house.

“I’m afraid of being physically abused or raped,” Miller told PEOPLE in April. “I have to stay busy. If I thought about it every day, I’d just sit around and cry.”

Dance Moms: Abby Tells All airs July 25 and Dance Moms premieres Aug. 1 — both at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

Platoon Reunion! Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen and Kevin Dillion Celebrate Film’s 30th Anniversary with House Party

What do you get when Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen and Kevin Dillion hang out together? A Platoon reunion!

The actors gathered at Depp’s Hollywood Hills home in Los Angeles on Sunday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Oscar-winning Oliver Stone-directed film, according to a photo shared on Dillon’s Instagram.

Though the war drama, inspired by Stone’s tour of duty in Vietnam, premiered on Dec. 24, 1986, it appears it’s never too late for a get-together among former costars!

Over three decades ago, a 20-year-old Sheen starred as Stone’s onscreen alter ego PFC Chris Taylor, whose purity of soul becomes the murderous plaything in an allegorical battle of Good and Evil. (Fun fact: Keanu Reeves originally turned down down Sheen’s role because of the violence).

Sheen was not favored with one of Platoon’s eight Oscar nominations in 1987, but costars Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger were nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Stone took home the best director award, and his film beat out Hannah and Her SistersThe MissionChildren of a Lesser God, and A Room With A View for best picture.

FROM COINAGE: The Top 5 Most Expensive Movies of All Time

“Charlie was a dumb-struck 17-year-old the first time he came in for the film, back when we were going to make it in ’84. And in those two years, he’d grown and seemed perfectly wide-eyed and had a vaguely privileged look,” Stone told Entertainment Weekly in May 2011, when Platoon was released on Blu-ray back to commemorate its 25th anniversary. “I think he did a great job. He was perfect for the movie. He conveys the horror of the place. I like his performance.”

As for then-rising star Depp, who was 22 at the time, Stone knew he was going to be a star.

“He was a great looking kid. He was considered for other roles, but I didn’t think he was quite ready at that time to play Charlie’s role,” the famed director recalled to EW. “We got to know each other pretty well in the jungle and I really thought he was going places. He was shy. I think it was before Jump Street.”

Barack and Michelle Obama’s Presidential Photos Inspired This Cleveland Couple’s Engagement Shoot

A Cleveland couple celebrated their own love by paying homage to Barack and Michelle Obama‘s iconic romance.

Bride-to-be Cassi Pittman and her fiancé Adam’s engagement shoot doubled as photo re-enactments in what was supposed to be just one Obama-inspired photo, according to the pair’s wedding planner, Covesa Kelly, and wedding photographer, Natasha Herbert.

“I miss The Obama’s SO much that when our Bride and Groom said ‘Can we try and duplicate one of their famous shots for our engagement pics?’ I was like let’s do an entire shoot- we can do this and this and THIS!” Kelly explained on Instagram.

“Because we miss them so much,” Herbert echoed, adding, “Our couple Cassi & Adam were channeling Michelle and Barack Obama in this engagement shoot.”

The soon-to-be newlyweds chose to recreate the Obamas’ ESSENCE cover photo shoot from the October 2016 issue, as well as the presidential pair’s playful embrace just before the National Newspaper Publishers Association reception in March 2009.

In addition, Cassi and Adam modeled a pose just like the moment when Michelle snuggled up against Barack while taping for the 2015 World Expo in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House.

“As African-Americans, we admire their achievements and what they represent,” Pittman, who is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Case Western Reserve University, told the Huffington Post. “They have a love that just shines, and we wanted to capture that love in our photos.”

Cassi and Adam are planning their wedding in December in Willoughby, Ohio.

Rihanna Brings All the (Haute Couture) Drama to L.A. Premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Though a ball gown is most commonly seen at the Oscars or the Met Ball, Rihanna brought her grand dame style to a movie premiere.

On Monday, the singer and actress amped up the drama on the black carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, wearing a perfectly pastel pink dress complete with long-flowing train.

Along with the countless yards of tulle, Rihanna’s off-the-shoulder Giambattista Valli Couture creation featured a short dress, billowy sleeves and cinched in waistline. And if the couture level wasn’t high already, the style star dressed her long legs in custom Manolo Blahnik shoes that criss crossed up her calves.

And if you’re getting a case of the throwbacks, you’re not alone: Rihanna’s Valerian look reminded many of her memorable 2015 Grammy Awards moment when she wore a similar tiered pink confection, also by Giambattista Valli.

Also at the premiere was the film’s leading lady, Cara Delevingne.

The model-turned-actress gave total space flapper vibes in a semi-sheer metallic halter dress from Iris van Herpen’s Fall 2017 Couture collection. Complete with ’20s inspired finger waves, Delevingne accessorized her ensemble with Repossi jewelry and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Like Rihanna, Kendall Jenner also got the off-the-shoulder note.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets hits theaters on July 21.
